Anderson's Classic downtown pub

The enthusiasm and welcoming hospitality that started within these walls in 1971 has had a resurgence. After a MIGHTY successful decade of keeping the tradition alive, Sarah & Shane Dowler officially own this historical building. In keeping with the traditional feel from their native England and Ireland pubs, things may change, but the enthusiasm and welcoming traditions are still very much in place.

The Electric City is rapidly moving out of the shadows as a prominent city in the South, growing in size and population. What hasn't changed is The Local Uptown's central location in the heart of downtown Anderson, South Carolina. Even with Anderson's growth, you will never have to question where the Local Uptown is going to be.

SIX YEARS OF PET LOVE — AND WE’VE BEEN PROUD TO HOST EVERY SINGLE ONE.
Tomorrow, the GELA Foundation’s 6th Annual Pet Love Event returns to The Local Uptown, and this one will always hold a special place in our hearts.
We hosted the very first Pet Love fundraiser at our old lake location and continued hosting it there for the first four years before bringing the event with us to Uptown.
But our connection goes back even further.
Before there was a GELA Foundation, there was Gela. She used to come to The Local with her humans, hanging out outside at both of our locations and becoming part of our Local family along the way.
Tomorrow, we get to celebrate her legacy while helping GELA continue its mission of giving other rescue dogs the chance to find their own extraordinary love.

And 25% of sales from BOTH specials sold Saturday will be donated to GELA Foundation!

Raffle tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20 and will be available at the event from 12–1:50 PM. Drawing begins at 2 PM.

The 6th Annual GELA Foundation Pet Love Event comes back to The Local!
This one means a little more to us. We’ve hosted GELA’s annual fundraiser every single year — the first four at our old lake location and now right here at The Local Uptown.

And long before there was a GELA Foundation, there was Gela. She used to come hang out with her humans at both of our locations, finding her spot outside and enjoying a little Local time of her own. So getting to continue hosting the fundraiser created in her memory is pretty special to us.

Come out Saturday for an afternoon supporting rescue dogs, incredible raffle prizes, adoptable pups, Tito’s drink specials and plenty of Pet Love.

THEN SUNDAY… WE’RE GETTING WET. It’s our SUMMER’S LAST CALL UPTOWN SPLASH BASH!
